Advice for Brides - Remembering You !

Sometimes in the hustle , bustle of party and wedding planning , we sometimes forget ourselves.
We get so carried away with arrangements and the busy busy busy that we don't take enough time for us.

I will give you the advice that anybody would , in that it is important to eat well, drink plenty of water, take a little light exercise if you can ,and if you think you need it, take a multivitamin.

Once a week, take a night out for you [ like you would with date night, when its just you and him] and just chill.

Run a bubble bath, give yourself a home manicure and pedicure, put on a facemask, exfoliate and paint those nails.

Light the candles , have a glass of wine, put on your favourite music and read that trashy romance novel.

Like taking a step back, and prioritising the importance of your relationship, you need to do the same thing for yourself.

Make yourself a priority today !!

Festival of Love - The Wedding of Adele and Larry - Images by Courtenay Photographic

In the second of my Real Life Wedding posts this week, I again feature the outstanding work of fantastic Dorset Wedding Photographer - Courtenay Photographic Ltd.

Courtenay Hitchcock gives us a little background into this really special Big Day.

"Adele and Larry’s (Laurence) wedding was held in the Church of St Andrews in the village of Blagdon Somerset."

"I first went to where Adele was getting ready in a house in the village of Nempnett Thrubwell!
I was very pleasantly surprised to find Adele getting ready in traditional Indian wedding dress, and having had the full Henna treatment done to her hand and arms.
Apparently Larry had no idea she was going to be dressed this way , and it was a complete surprise."

"Then I was off to Blagdon to find Larry and the boys in the local pub, before heading to the Church."

"Soon Adele arrived, and a lovely service followed.
Larry and Adele are both Christians (they met through their Church group) and had brought their own vicar with them to conduct the service."

"Following the service we went out into the brisk Autumn air, where the weather now looking decidedly dodgy.
As guests started to make their way to the reception. Adele, Larry and I  headed to Blagdon reservoir and Nature reserve to capture a few quiet pictures."

"Then it was our turn too to head off to the reception which was being held at Larry’s family home in a large open sided Marquee."

"The theme of Adele and Larry’s wedding was ‘Festival” and many guests donned brightly coloured clothing, funny hats and soon many guests (including the father of the groom) had had their faces painted too!"

"We then ventured nto a field next to the garden with views over Blagdon Reservoir for a few family formals.
Just in time too because that threatening cloud suddenly opened and rain fell heavily, still it certainly didn’t dampen any spirits."

"This wedding was a really close affair, you could really feel the love in the room if you know what I mean, just as well as we all had to stay fairly well packed in under the large open sided Marquee."

"Speeches were held on the terrace overlooking the marquee (also covered by the large tent ) and then it was time for Carribean food to be served buffet style."

"Darkness began to fall, fire juggling broke out and small children shinned up the marquee poles, it was just a really relaxed fun atmosphere."

"Braziers were lit to help give some warmth, and the band Blak Flamez took their places ready for the first dance."

"Adele and Larry took to the floor to rapturous applause, and were soon joined by many guests and family as the wonderful reggae band kicked into full swing.
Another great wedding!"

What a gorgeous Wedding, in such vibrant colour, and with such a sense of fun, and two different cultures blending seamlessly as one.
Some stunning images from Courtenay, and a beautiful couple whose love just shines through.

Supplier Spotlight - Intricate Creations

Today I am delighted to spotlight the amazing work of Intricate Creations.

Intricate Creations blends classic design and modern technology to create luxury couture bespoke wedding stationery for all tastes.

Founded and established by a newly married young couple who themselves struggled to find their 'perfect' wedding stationery, Intricate Creations understands the need to be flexible with designs, colours and pretty much anything to do with wedding stationery.

I spoke to Keerti Patel to find out all about this amazing Business.

What is it that you do ?

"Intricate Creations specialise in contemporary, bespoke, laser cut Wedding Stationery for the sophisticated, style concious couples of today."

"Our couture designs fuse the cultural richness of the East, with the chic glamour of the West, to form a new, unique trend in the Wedding Stationery World."

When and why did you start your business ?

"After spending 8 months travelling the world, my wife and I were so inspired to start our own business to give us the freedom to do what we wanted, when we wanted.
Shortly after getting back to the UK, we got married and it was during the planning stages where Intricate Creations was born."

"Being born and bred in the UK but with Indian roots, made it so difficult to find the perfect wedding stationery.
We wanted a Western feel but with an Eastern twist to satisfy both sides to us."

"Unfortunately we found it incredibly hard to find something to suit, so we decided to make them ourselves. We were sold on the experience and decided to go at it full time doing what we love. designing, creating and innovating."

What inspires you ?

"Inspiration can take many forms.
Eastern culture plays a big part in our designs, but saying that so does the Western culture.
We feel our designs fuse the two in perfect harmony."

"Making other people happy also is one of our biggest motivators.
Seeing the smile on someone's face when you deliver their perfect wedding stationery means more to us than our brides and grooms will ever know."

Whats your greatest achievement ?

"Travelling the world is something a lot of people talk about.
Well we packed up our 9-5's and travelled the world for 8 months.
It was one of our greatest achievements, and what made it extra special is that we shared it with each other."

"We love to live life to the fullest, and cram in as much as we can.
There are no second thoughts, no doubts, we just go for it and we enjoy every day to the fullest because of it."

"From a business point of view, exhibiting at the National Wedding Show and getting the response we did was pretty great being such a young company."

Whats the future for Intricate Creations ?

"Who knows what is in store for Intricate Creations.
Being such a young company, we would love to build our reputation in the wedding world to one that is loved."

"The future may see Intricate Creations branching out into other forms of design but for now, stationery is our number 1 focus."

I adore all types of Wedding Stationery, the excitement you get when one drops on your doormat is fantastic, but from my point of view I find these designs stunning and a refreshing change.
Diversity in Wedding Ivitations is brilliant though as it means there is something for everyone.

I particularly like the "Royal Affection" and think it would have been a much better choice for Royal couple Wills and Kate for their own Big Day.
