Real Life Yorkshire Fairytale - Brian and Christie - Images by Paul Chantry

Brian and Christie have been together for 7 and a half years, since meeting in Skipton when she was 16 and he was 22.
They now have two boys together, William who is 5, and Sam, who was 2 the day before the wedding.
The day of the Wedding was also Brian's 30th Birthday.

The wedding date was the 7th August 2010, and the church service was at Christ Church in Skipton, North Yorkshire where Christie's parents had got married 26 years earlier.

Their reception venue was at  the Spread Eagle at Sawley.
The venue was fairly new to weddings, but Christie said the team were amazing, especially Kate who is the Venue wedding co-ordinator.

Christie's bridesmaids were her sister Charlotte, Brian's sister Claire and her best friend Katie.
The best man was Brians brother, Paul and the Usher was Brians best friend and  a good friend of Christies, Dave.

Christie and her  friends made the favours.
They were Hersheys hugs and kisses wrapped in tulle, and had tags which Brians dad made for them which said 'hugs and kisses from the new mr & mrs', which Christie loved.
They also had a candy bar which Christies sister organised and her other sister Charlotte made the cake.

Their first dance was to Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars, and a lovely surprise later on in the evening was her  dad requesting a daddy daughter dance which was to Wet Wet Wets Love is all around..

Thank you so much to Christie and Brian Cauvin for sharing their wonderful day, a day of love, beauty, and the importance of family in the centre of it.

SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT - LUCY LEDGER DESIGNS

Today I am talking to the absolutely gorgeous Lucy Ledger of Lucy Ledger Designs.
She designs fun, quirky vintage inspired stationery for brides that want something a little different!

Hi Lucy, tell us a little bit about the history of your Company.

" I have been a professional illustrator and graphic designer for 10 years, and I have recently set up Lucy Ledger Designs because when I was planning my own wedding last year I became aware that there wasn't anything out there that was quite right for the wedding we were planning."

"I wanted a relaxed and informal feel to my stationery- something that would make guests feel that they were going to attend a fun filled occasion that reflected our personalities.
I decided to create my own stationery and that is how the company came about."

"The 'scrapbooking' style I have adopted has turned out to be perfect for weddings.
I wanted my stationary to reflect the fact that a wedding is an important time in life, and an opportunity to gather together memories of that special time."

Tell us about your Ranges

"I currently have seven ranges in my Wedding collection.
These include Country Garden, Cool Britannia, Summer Fete, Polka Love, Cherry Ever After, Divine Deco and Sail Away.
I also have an online greeting card shop on my site with the option to personalise the cards, and I now do a range of Prints and caption boards, ideal for decoration, or for use in photoshoots."

What inspires and drives you in your work ?

"My cottage’s character and charm provides huge inspiration for my designs!
I absolutely LOVE junk (!) and have done since I moved into my little 17th century cottage a few years ago. It was a joy to decorate and I spent hours scouring antique shops and emporiums to find quirky pieces of furniture to fill it!"

"The idea for vintage style stationery came from a scrapbook my Nan gave to me- it was filled with hundreds of vintage cards from the turn of the 20th century- a time when giving a card was a gift in itself.
This book was such an inspiration because not only did these cards have such a warmth about them- the way they were presented in this scrapbook made it look more like a memory book- a perfect style for wedding stationery!
That is the style I adopted for my wedding and the signature style I use throughout Lucy Ledger Designs."

"I am mostly driven day to day to create work that will help couples put their personality into their wedding day.
I love nothing more than creating a bride and grooms dream stationery and it is so rewarding to get emails back saying 'Its perfect! Just like we pictured it could be!"

What's exciting now, and what are your plans for the future ?

"In the last 6 months, I have exhibited at my first wedding fair, appeared in a feature in "Perfect Wedding" Magazine.
My  Caption Boards have been featured in a seaside shoot with RocknRoll Bride, Kat Williams, and a Sex and the City style shoot with PH Weddings and the Wedding Daze, and have also been featured on several other wedding industry Blogs."

"Soon I plan to add more ranges to my Collection."
