Designer Spotlight - Amanda Wyatt 2010 Collection.

Celebrating 15 years in the Bridal Industry this year, Amanda Wyatt's personal experience, knowledge and expertise shows.
Known for her superior quality and pallette of fabrics, this year her designs include the use of etoile, silk backed satins, crepe de chene, and an array of shimmering silks.
The sheer opulence of her designs stands out, and each grand design is stunning.

Amanda led the way with coloured Wedding dresses, and this Collection debuts the signature colours of Praline, Tea Rose Pink, Raspberry and Gold.
I like something just a little from the norm, its fresh and exciting, and I personally love the Geneva Gown in Hazelnut.

Each Amanda Wyatt dress contours the Bride's body with exceptional fit and structure, ensuring the perfect silhouette.

Her sensational use of detail continues into her award winning Accessories range, with key pieces that match, and compliment the Brides individual look and style.

New for 2010, are fuller, more dramatic skirts, and slinky glamourous gowns - perfect for that destination affair.
And for something a little different, shorter and adorble styles, perfect for the current Vintage Trend.

I am thrilled and honoured to be able to share some of her stunning work here with you all.

Would you like to appear in a Glossy Magazine ?

In a media request through http://theglasgowgirlsweddingguide.com/ , there is a fabulous opportunity for Bride's everywhere.

Would you like to appear in a glossy magazine ?

If your aged 30-55 and are having your hen night this year then this might be for you.
It doesn’t matter whether you have actually had it, or are having it later in the summer.
Perhaps you are planning a traditional hen night in a club, perhaps you are going to a spa, or dinner in a lovely restaurant. They are particularly looking for someone who is having their mum and ideally their grandma there.
The Bride-to-be and hens will get together for a lovely photoshoot – the Bride will get to keep the pictures. The interview will talk about how important their friends are to them, so it will be a lovely memento too.

If you or anyone you know might be interested, please email

Wedding Advice Tip - Working to a strict Budget !

In these diifficult times we all want to still have our Perfect Day, but budget sometimes is a big drawback.Consider using talented relatives/ friends. Someone that loves to bake. Someone with a really great singing voice. someone with a classic car etc.And almost all of us know someone who works in the retail sector, and can get a bit of a discount.
Create a budget to start with and stick to it, you don't want to be saddled with debt for the first few years of married life.
Haggle for discounts, or get a professional to do it for you [ outrageous plug, lol!!]

In credit crunch times, a lot of vendors are prepared to be a little flexible.

And in the first instance, ask for prices for a family celebration rather than a wedding, prices are usually curtailed a little.

Supplier Spotlight - I WANT A POEM

Today I want to highlight the work of the lovely Amy of  I WANT A POEM.

Amy has been writing poem's since she was a little girl.

She initially started writing as a way to express her emotions of the time, but then she found that other people liked her poems too.

Throughout her youth, her teens and then into adulthood, she continued writing.
The feedback she recieved was overwhelming.

She believes that writing a personalised poem, and being allowed to share in the special occasions of others is a very great honour.

http://www.iwantapoem.co.uk/ was born in 2007, and since then her immense talent has been used to create little literary masterpieces for weddings, christenings, funerals, birthdays and much more.
Also, late last year, every Saturday evening on Twitter, an X Factor poem was created for the assembled masses, and these were very witty, hugely enterataining and enjoyed by all.

Her vision is that "No-one should ever be stuck for words again", and this makes each personalised poem a truly unique gift, with you providing the information, inspiring Amy to create something very heartfelt.
In her own words she describes her words as a "written cuddle", and something like that will be cherished for many years to come.

Her glowing Testimonials are tribute to how valued Amy's work is.

Personally I love Amy's work, she is so creative and can pen phenomenally fantastic pieces of prose.

Taking A Stand !

The speeches at a Wedding can be the most looked forward to, or the most dreaded part.
Generally the men of the bridal party [father of the bride, the groom and the best man] stand up and say a
few words.
The pressure is on them to deliver something insightful, touching and humourous to entertain the assembled
guests, and the most pressure is probably on the best man to perform witty recollections of his newly wed best mate.
But why leave all the fun to the men !
As it is not generally expected, the bride giving a speech could be seen as being fresh and exciting.
And at her most beautiful, she will probably have the most receptive audience of her life.
This is something I did at my wedding, I stood up and gave a short and personal poem to my new husband.
It was short and sweet as I am generally not a big public speaker, but it was an expression of my love to the
most important person in my life.

The Economy's Impact on Events !

Whilst the economy has obviously had an impact, it hasn't stopped people wanting to get married and it hasn't stopped people wanting to have a really good party.
It just means in these times of financial constraint we have to get more savvy.

From scouring Ebay for retro chic bridal and party gowns, 5 for 4 suit hire, making your own invitations and supermarket celebration cakes, savings can be made in most areas and it is just about doing the research.

In the case of weddings some people have a quick engagement as with little time to plan, you don't tend to be as extravagent.
Or as an option, if you have a length of time till your wedding or event, you have more time to save. and more time to check out all the options.

Whilst you may think that a Wedding Planner is the last thing you need in these uncertain times, their job is to help you wade through the mountain of suppliers , find you the perfect venue, get the very best for your budget, and save you money through the discounts they have with those in the bridal and events industry.

In times gone by, lack of money didn't hinder a great time.

Some of the best parties were held in the Blitz and while considerations have to be made, its all about being careful and creative.

If you would like some help creating your Wedding or Event whilst keeping to you budget, I would be delighted to help.

Madeline Isaac James - 2010 Collections

Even at the tender age of 5 Natalie had a love of all things Bridal, and was often to be found sketching designs.
From that time, her natural capability for design was evident ,and she has been creating beautiful and elegant gowns since 2001.

Natalie is 5th Generation of a family with roots in the Garment industry.
Her great great grandfather was a Master Tailor, and since his time, there has always been a family member with associations to clothing design and manufacture.
Natalie is herself, a proud member of the Trade Association for British Bridalwear designers and Manufacturers.
She named her label after her three children, and I can't think of a greater tribute to them than that.

Natalie's collections are designed with an emphasis on excellent style and cut, and she uses high quality materials such as lace, silk chiffons, taffeta, organza, satin, charmeuse silk, and svarowski crystals.

Her gowns express the genuine love, passion and desire she has for her work, and her design philosiphy is to capture each bride's spirit and imagination, which I just love.

Her collections are unique, and are graceful and elegant, whether the bride wishes a romatic style, or one that is more classic and glamourous.
All gowns are made to order, ensuring that each Madeline Isaac-James gown fits each indiviual beautifully.

Her two latest collections, Silhoutte and Platinum, share timeless appeal and a touch of Hollywood Glamour, and are truly exquisite.
I am particularly impressed by her Maternity collection for the expectant bride, and the fact that the gowns accentuate and flatter the Bride's curve's with no comprimise on style.

I am thrilled to have been sent some images by Natalie to share with you all , and I am sure you will agree how fabulous they are.

Venue Focus - Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow.

It may not be a Scottish Castle, it may not be a Luxury Hotel, but there is nothing like it in Glasgow, and different is Good !!!

When you think of a football stadium, automatic notions of boyhood dreams flash before your eyes, but Ibrox Stadium, home of Rangers Football Team is so much more than that.

From the moment you step through the front door, you are entering somewhere steeped in history.
And though not traditionally the first thought most people would have for their Wedding, it holds a certain pull as soon as you get inside.

It is understood by the team at Ibrox that this is the most important day of your life, and since the Millenium 150 couples have tied the knot at this unique and distinctive setting.

The Blue room is adorned in lovely period features with colourful ,and luxurious drapes.
It has a rich grandness, and provides a dignified ambience perfect for Wedding Ceremonies.
This room holds up to 75 people.

The Members Lounge is a cosy room, perfect for your post ceremony Drinks Reception, and the best thing is, that you can walk out straight out from this room onto the Park.

You are also permitted selective access to exclusive areas such as the Changing Rooms, the Players Tunnel and trackside.

In the Main Stand there is the Cooper, and the Thornton Suite.
The Cooper suite, decorated in subtle coffee hue's is lovely for a smaller event and holds up to 40 guests, and the Thornton Suite , tastefully done in blue and red holds up to 120.
For larger guest numbers, it simply has to be the Ibrox Suite.
This room is just a little bit special.
As soon as you walk in the door, your eyes are drawn to the panoramic window that overlooks the pitch, and it is simply breathtaking.

There are many options for holding your Specail Day at Ibrox

-Ceremony only
-Nuptuals elsewhere, and then Reception at Ibrox
-Full Ceremony and Reception at the Stadium.

In addition to Weddings, all suites can also be booked for Private Parties.

Supplier Focus - NDK Photography

NDK wedding Photography is owned and run by Nick Kirk, a professional photographer based in Glasgow, Scotland.
His work has been recognised and awarded both in the UK, and Internationally, and this year he has achieved the status of being placed in the Top 10 Wedding Photographers by his peers.

Niick's approach to wedding photography is more modern, telling a story, rather than images being static and staged.

What sets Nick apart, and what makes him a little different is that he works exclusively with only 30 couples per year.
The reason for this is so that a much more personal relationship is forged between photographer and client.
Creating that relationship is vitally important, as your comfort shows in your face and therefore in your images.

Nick personally shoots every single Wedding, and edits and designs all his albums to ensure the very best service from start to finish.

Supplier Focus - Chez Bec

Today, I want to highlight the work of Rebecca Doyle, the creative force behind Chez Bec, a fabulously stylish, and award winning jewellery brand.

Rebecca sold her first piece of jewellery at the age of 8.
It was a silver heart shaped locket, that she sold in her mum's antique jewellery shop to a man looking for a Valentines gift for the lady in his life.

Quite a few years later,  and just after she met her future husband, Rebecca was on holiday.
She came to the momentous conclusion that life was too short to waste on a job that didn't allow for work / life balance [law], and made a decision that would change her life.

Swept up in the excitement, she decided to turn life long passion into an amzing business opportunity.

In 2006, Chez Bec was launched.
Initially, Rebecca focused on contemporary jewellery , but following a struggle to find affordable and beautiful pearl jewellery for her own Wedding, Rebecca found her niche in the Wedding market.

Chez Bec is now considered as one of the best in their field, and very recently picked up the coveted Best Bridal Accessories Award at the 2010 Wedding Ideas Awards.

Chez Bec's 2010 collection is inspired by bygone days and is filled with romantic, vintage style pieces created with freshwater pearls and rock crystals.
And refreshingly she has even thought of the boys with a range of cufflinks and cravat pins.

Personally, I love her collections, they are just stunning.
It is clear that a great deal of thought and love has gone into the creation of each piece.
I am also really inspired by the fact she runs such a successful, award winning company whilst being mum to twins.
Based on experience, this is no mean feat.
