Today we are talking to the FABULOUS Scot McCulloch of Flowersnob. He is an up and coming freelance florist from Glasgow, and he knows flowers.
I met up with Scot last week, and he told me a little bit about his business.
When and how did you become interested in Floristry ?
"I first started floristry at the age of 15, I was still at school, but loved it !
It was a little different to all the other boys at school.
After I left school, I studied floristry at college, and worked for a while at Mood Flowers in Glasgow.
I found I had a true passion for flowers, and have been told I have a natural flare for it."
"When I was 18 I decided to take a risk, and move to Australia.
I travelled and worked all over meaning I had the opportunity to work with some of the best florists internationally, and I was lucky enough to create designs for some of the worlds most reknowned hotels.
I quickly learnt that I had a very adaptable style from old english, modern scottish and full on true blue aussie, Recently I have been adapting my own style which is more avante garde and innovative."
What Drives You ?
"I have always been driven by my parents, Mum always wanted me to do something great with my life.
Thats what really pushes me to succeed, and have something to live up to.
I have always worked hard for the things I have achieved, and have taken nothing for granted, and that makes me very determined."
Whats next for Flower Snob ?
"My real passion is for event and wedding work, the fact it has a special meaning makes me feel apart of someone's day, and that is my focus at this time.
I really enjoy meeting new people and just having a nice conversation is one of the reasons I really love my job! "
Scot has a natural exhuberance and he exudes creativity when talking about bringing together beautiful floral designs.
He would be a wondeful asset to anyone's event, and in particular would bring Wow factor to your wedding.
