Preparation

I am working on some portfolios for clients to view at the wedding show I am exhibiting at.
I am taking the work I have already done for clients taking full wedding co-ordination and the on the day option and changing personal details so that client confidentiality is maintained and so that I have a document that gives an idea of the initial job that I do.

I am really looking forward to the show and the opportunities that it may lead to and want to be well prepared through the work I am doing.

Pushing ahead!!!

Went to a business expo today basically to get some advertising and marketing advice .
I know what I want to do , I have the drive to acheive it but letting the rest of the world know when you are new and not rolling in cash is the tiny little stumbling block.
Word of mouth is the way forward and hopefully with good reviews and recommendations from Saturday's client and my little U.K network of publicisers then things will start picking up.

Well yesterday was my first official wedding.
The last year of preparation all sandwiched into 12 hours of confetti filled intensity!!!
The sun shone and the rain stayed off at the important bits and everything flowed relatively well .
Got lots of lovely comments from the guests and the bride and groom said I had exceeded their expectations which was really flattering.
Can't wait till the next one!!

Feel a teeny bit important !!!

Got a letter today from a wedding dress designer based in Motherwell. Her name is Susanne Christyne and she was contacting leading players in the bridal industry and had selected Plans and Presents as a possible partner.
All appointments with Susanne are by referral and introduction only so my clients, would, by referral , through me, be able to see her exclusive collection.
Spoke to her and she is lovely and I am very much looking forward to meeting her and viewing her work

Will I get there ?

Well it's been an up and down kind of day.
Doing some fine tuning of the details of Saturday with some suppliers being lovely and some not so much.... but you have got to take the rough with the smooth.
I have put up some flyers on local community boards and networked a little with people I have met , handing out business cards and have also done some internet adverts.
The first year of business is a challenge to be accepted and a struggle to get your name out there but hopefully with my next 2 weddings , I will get some positive review.
The wedding show in September will also be an excellent opportunity to show people what I can do!

Looking forward to the future

My first official wedding is next Saturday and I am really looking forward to it.
I have had some really good experience in events such as weddings and naming days in the last 18 months and I want to put that experience into practice.
Planning has been a positive experience and I am enjoying the run up immensely.
This is the job I was born to do, it makes me so happy that it doesn't even feel like a job, it is a simple pleasure and a joy to be able to share someones special moment.....

This is a path that I have wanted to tread for a good few years but the time wasn't right.

I have been married myself for the last 5 years to my soulmate Neill.
We met late in life but he was worth waiting for !!
I am now mum to two beautiful if not completely bonkers kids, Kathryn who is 3 and a half and Leo , 16 months and they are my life!
I am a people person and I love organising and planning so this career is a natural progression of that.
I am passionate about doing something that simply makes another person smile.
